Pretty slick looking. Do you have a tail light/blinkers? I have no eye for design, but would you consider adding some red in somewhere back there? Just seems a little too black between the seat and your tail.

I will add something at some point but that's down the road. I have many hours left in finishing work before I start to make it pretty. I'm considering adding the "800rr" logo from the repsol Chinese fairings because I like making the bike relatable to other Honda enthusiasts. Right now it has an all in one bar above the license plate for lighting. It's not terrible at night but I will be adding extra tail /brake lighting for safety. Maybe later I'll toss up a vid of what it looks like.

It's not a good one, but I managed to snag a shot as the sun was going down today. Finally a shot with sunlight!

So, to tie this back into my fiberglass project I had a bit of an issue going from the OEM seat to the Corbin seat. It turns out that they do not have the same contour and I managed to destroy the left side of the mold. I wrapped the left side in speed tape so I could ride all day but I'll have to rebuild it soon. You can see the damage in this pic.

It really comes down to my own mistake- When doing molds in the past I used an actual paper adhesive tape to shape the base and the resin saturated the tape and wasn't an issue. Since becoming an aircraft painter I have become very accustomed to using blue painters tape. The wax coated painters tape didn't absorb the resin and caused the structural integrity loss that contributed to the left side cracking out.

    Thanks for looking!

Also, I might toss up a video of the sound of the semi-baffled open cat converter. I found a balance of sound and flow so that it runs almost identical to my gutted cans at a fraction of the noise output. It is a more raw raspy sound which IMO doesn't go well with the sleek refined look and feel of the vfr, but it will do until I commit to doing the exhaust work.

    Again, Thanks for looking!

Way to make it your own!

It really opens up the single sided swing arm. The baffled cat sounds awesome too(a California member has done this to his 5th gen).

    Thanks for sharing.

Very cool. Are you going to let the tire nick all that pretty paint ? Or do you have something in mind ?

I don't understand what you mean. The tire can't hit anything. Clarify?

Oh good point! well, right now that is only plastidip on the rear so I can remove it back to primer white when I resume smoothing out some pits and voids I had missed before. Really, I don't mind much what happens under the tail because you don't see it much and really there isn't anything I can do about it wihtout putting on a large hugger and that would kill the look of the floating rear rim I love so much.

Looks sweet, Noob. Matching the red really made it stand out, yet be subtle at the same time. Well done.

Subtle enough that people don't understand the time and effort that has gone into it because now it blends in with the sporty crowd.

He's talking about a rear tire hugger again.

Thank you. Hopefully tomorrow I'll drill the holes for the grab handles and possibly mock up the whole touring set with the corbin seat and hard bags just to make sure it all sits correctly.

It is obvious the bags were not designed for the current layout. Also, you can clearly see how much volume I have removed from the tail section. The OEM 6gen has a very crowded touring rear end.

I really don't mind the awkward look of the bags because 99% if my rides do not involve them. My real issue is that I designed so heavily around the OEM seat that as of right now the Corbin does not fit and the wife is not happy about it. The lines on the two seats are completely different so I'll have to get semi creative with the switch back and forth. I'm considering keeping the handles on for awhile to break up the red in the back as well as shooting the underside black (coming to a point with the tail)
