Sad day. Time to sell the '05 VFR so I can have some dirt bikes.

    Sorry, I thought the ad uploaded but apparently it never posted. Looks like it worked this time. If anyone is really interested in owning a VFR this is the chance. It runs absolutely perfect.

    The DR's are definitely no VFR! They are about 15 hp each. I've been using it as a commuter bike. It's hard to beat the 80 mpg. My wife and I have had them up in the hills and forests and also out in the desert. They are a lot of fun. They only weigh in at about 280 lbs each. And are easy to muscle around if you get stuck. The DR's are a heck of alot easier to get in and out of the garage than the ST's or VFR. But, I had been riding the little DR for a few weeks and then got back on the VFR. Holy Smokes! I forgot how the VFR accelerates. What a nice bike.

    The bike looks pretty nice. The ad needs to have the mileage added to the text as that will likely be the first question you get.

    The branded title screws the deal for most Canadians as the vehicle import process gets quite fuzzy. They want to have all sorts of details regarding the accident history, repairs etc and ten they reserve the right to just say nope, can't bring her in. Too much hassle for me.

    What is a vehicle brand?

    A brand is a permanent designation on a vehicle’s title indicating that the vehicle has previously sustained substantial damage through collision, natural disaster (flood, fire, hail, etc) or any other occurrence requiring repair.

    In the United States, brands vary from state to state but generally align with equivalent Canadian brands (or vehicle status). Examples of Canadian brands include:

    Clear/Normal

    A vehicle that has never been written off or declared as a total loss.
    Salvage

    A vehicle that has been written off or declared a total loss. It may be safely rebuilt and re-licensed provided it passes a structural integrity inspection administered through a provincial/territorial licensing body.
    Rebuilt

    A vehicle that was previously titled as “salvage” but has now been repaired and has passed a structural integrity inspection. Subject to a successful provincial/territorial safety inspection, these vehicles qualify for licensing.
    Non-repairable

    A vehicle that has sustained structural damage to the extent it cannot be rebuilt and safely put back on the road. Once designated as non-repairable, a vehicle can never be licensed in Canada, and can only be used for parts or scrap.

    The brand record is associated with the vehicle identification number (VIN) and remains part of its permanent history. A vehicle’s status may change from “clear” to “salvage” to “rebuilt”, but each status will be part of the vehicle’s permanent record.

    I've dropped the price to $3000 if anyone is interested. I'm considering trading it to a local for his 2007 DRZ400. He is more than happy to make a straight across trade! I rode the DR400 and it's definitely a better bike for me than the DR200. My VFR is a whole 'nother class of bike than the DR400. It's like setting a Corvette by a Honda Civic. It's almost idiotic, but my wife is all for it. I think the salvage title on the VFR is the main problem. It's the stupidest thing I have ever done. My son-in-law convinced me to total the bike and buy it back rather than just spend the $1200 for parts. I bought it back and spent the money on repairs anyway. Stupid, stupid, stupid! :frusty:

    My wife and I are looking at selling all our bikes for a couple dual-sport bikes. We just don't do as much long distance riding that we used to do before we had the Grandkids. BTW, I still absolutely love the VFR. I rode it today and it's amazing. It made me want to go for a couple thousand mile ride! My wife just despises the Viffer.
