I am going to take my bike to have the valve clearance checked, starter valves synced, plugs changed.

I want to make sure I have all the parts needed, so my bike doesn't get stuck there needing to wait on parts. The shop says they have plenty of shims, so I don't need those. They made me up a list of parts to buy, but I want to run it by you all to see if we missed anything that will be necessary or should be replaced at the same time. Here is what we got:

    Qty
1 Honda 12391-MCW-000 GSKT, FR. CYL HD CVR
2 Honda 12394-MBG-000 GASKET B, CYL HD CVR
1 Honda 12395-MCW-000 GSKT, RR. CYL HD CVR
2 Honda 14523-MCW-003 GSKT, TENSIONER HOLE
    4 Honda 31912-MCW-003 S/PLG (IMR9B-9H)
1 Honda 43520-MCW-D01 PISTON SET, RR.
    4 Honda 91307-PY4-003 O-RING (24.5X1.9)

Also I realize the coolant may need to be replaced, but they have that, they just asked I round up the Honda parts.

    Thanks for any help

Mileage is just under 32k. But I bought this bike used and have no service history on it. It does run a bit rough and has vibration at higher RPM's (I have no other VFR to compare to, so could be normal), so I am just being cautious. At the same time I have the clearances done I am having the valves done, MAP inspected and cleaned if necessary, fuel pressure checked, plugs put in, starter valves synced, and I am going to have them check for any air and exhaust leaks.

Can't help much, but from recently doing my 500, it's a good Idea to have at least one shim so you can swap them around if need be and still be able to turn the motor over. The cam may chew up the bucket if there is no shim in it.

Can anyone comment on my parts list? I had this on there by mistake:

1 Honda 43520-MCW-D01 PISTON SET, RR.

thats a Rear master cylinder piston set.........(was just on my scratchpad because I was looking at that too)......

I am concerned now that I should have potentially purchased new insulators and clamps.......maybe a t-stat too, its just so expensive on service, just trying to get my parts list right any help is appreciated.

I will confess to not having read your post properly (didn't see that the shop was doing your valves). Unless it's your only transport, I personally wouldn't spend too much money on a whole bunch of stuff I may not need in the end, I'm a cheapskate though. Phone your locals dealer/parts supplier and find out what parts they have and how quickly they could get stuff they don't. Won't kill you to have the bike off the road for an extra day or 2.
