    sup y'all?

my name is elad levy, 32 out of eilat, israel.
been two wheeling it for the past 16 years, starting from 50cc scooters, up to maxi scooters, on to my recently departed (sold, not crashed) K7 sv650n which i traded for a K8 (sixth gen) VFR800 INTERCEPTOR.
now, i've read a lot about this bike, being a V engine fan for quite some time. nothing but praises all over. road tests, reviews, people i talked to.
so i was struggling between two choices.
a K5 CBR1100XX black bird and the VFR.
i do most of my riding around town, work, school.. those kind of stuff, and on wknds i take to the twisties up in the mountain roads out just minutes out of town. an occasional long distance hop too.
so i was looking for a bike to answer all those needs.
the VFR was one bike i always loved, but thought it was more on the touring end of the sport-touring spectrum, and boy was i wrong.
this bike is amazing. i am in love with it.
and while it does tour with out a hassle, it's the sportier side of it that took me completely by surprise.
i had a 400km ride from where i went to get the bike from (private owner) to my hometown.
some major highways, but most of the ride is a twisty desert-mountain road.
i had a blast. i was grinning the whole ride.
this is my second "real" bike and my first honda and i am hooked.

    so that's it.
catch ya'll around the twisties :)

Congrats on your new toy! The VFR is a fine machine that should last you a very long time if you take care of it. Please post some pics when you get a chance.

:canada::welcome::israel: Call ignorant ignorant, but are the roads a bit on the dusty side over there? I picture a fair bit of sand and such on the asphalt much like what ours here are like in the spring once all the snow is melted away and what's left behind is the sand they spread for traction. Except in my part of the country where it fuggen rains 8 months of the year.

Some roads are, actually, but if you know where to go, there are some premium streches of clean, decent to high quality asphalt. the bits that tend to get sandy or gravely are the ones where the road crosses a river channel or a 4x4 trail that exists onto the asphelt road. On the plus side, there is little to non traffic on these roads, especially early in the am, thats when we do most of our riding in the summer, before it gets desert hot on our asses lol
During the boot legged version of a winter we have down in the south, where i live, we only get 20mm of rain, which is like three days worth of a drizel. Rest of the winter is clear skies, with maybe a cloud here and there. Certeinly no snow.
Perfect race track conditions, dumb ass goverment and authorities.
We only now got a "motor sport racing act", which allows you to race and compete (with the propper licence) approved...
We just find our own small scaled mullholand drive versions out side of town and up state.
