It's been a little while since I picked up my 1990 vfr750 and joined this site. I have been working on all the broken fairings and such, and also been riding it back and fourth to work with just the tail assembly and the upper fairings on it while I work on everything south of the upper fairing/cowl.

Some pieces are not so bad with just a little rash or small cracks, while other were severely cracked or missing large chunks of plastic. With some fiberglass and duraglass filler I have managed to repair all the lower and mid fairings to where they look like they were never damaged(from the outside). I have no idea what I'm going to do about the center "V" section that is missing both of the upper ear sections of it. I cannot locate a replacement(except new) and I have no idea how to even begin to fabricate the missing areas without something to go off of.

I pulled off the upper fairings yesterday and started the repair process on them. I zip tied the headlamp to the fairing stay so it is still ridable

I am going to make the upper pieces all one piece instead of 3 pieces, since most of the tabs are either broke or missing. So far it is going well and should turn out great.

When all is done and ready for paint I think I'm going to go with a medium charcoal gray metallic on everything except I'm not going to paint the tank. It's still in fairly nice condition with just a couple little dings. I have an all red VFR sticker set that should tie is all together (the charcoal fairings and red tank)....I hope anyway.

I have some pictures I started to take after my wife gave me hell for not taking "before" pictures of some of the cowl panels...I'll get them loaded up sometime tonight.

Some might think I'm crazy for spending so much time on fixing this old bike, but I like bike...for some reason, I like it better than the 94-97 models. Maybe because it seems like it was ahead of it's time, and the later models just seem like the same as everything else (or everything else caught up)

I'll try to get those pics up so you can all see the crap I've been working with,LOL.

BTW, with the new tires and the new pipe I put it on...It sounds and rides awesome

Oh...I uploaded a short vid to somewhat capture the exhaust sound.

The muffler is a D&D that is actually for a Triumph 955i that I modified to work with the VFR collector. It was like new on Ebay for dirt cheap, so I had to try
