A guy I know totalled his VFR800 and has a Power Commander III USB he is willing to sell me for $50.

My question is this: Is it worth it to put a PCIII on a completely stock VFR? Wouldn't it kill my MPG?

As a more responsible answer, it will alter the terrible stock fuel map and give you fuel when you need it rather than where honda thought they needed it. The bottom line is that the more power you have, the less mpg you'll get so if you use it to boost fuel to much yes you will lose mpg. If you use it to alter the Vtech transition and keep things fairly calm, it should be similar to stock.

I cannot resell it on moral grounds obviously. And yes it is for a 6th gen, dunno why I would post it in the 6th gen forum otherwise but having run forums I know that shit happens all the time.

Yes, especially with such a low post count nobody knows how familiar you are with the structure of the board. I moderate a much larger forum and am much more comfortable with the invision layout.

I would buy it and keep it for the price alone. If you want to put it on and later add the aftermarket pipes and then remap it.
