    I have a blue 03 which I really enjoy but;

I have lost the keys (and yes I have searched every where)

I have been told that I need to replace the ECU. this means ECU, Ignition barrel, fuel cap and Seat lock, $2153NZ
I have been offered a 07 ECU Ignition barrel, fuel cap and Seat lock for $750 and been told that it will plug straight in ??
I don't what to spend the money on new parts if other parts fit.

    Can any body help

I don't believe you need a new ECU.

If you have HISS system then I believe you will have to change ecu. There may be other options. Google lost keys HISS. Or something to that effect and see what others have been able to do. The 2003 has an "enrichment lever (choke), the 2005 and up don't. The 2006 and newer bikes have bigger injectors. I'm not sure how all this effects the ecu from your 2003 to the 2007 ecu you are looking at.

    Thanks

I have H.I.S.S. so I need to change the ECU.
Was hoping that I could save some money and get some benefits along the way.
    Will try Google

    Cheers

I really wish you the best of luck in getting over this. BUT! When you do. Get a second or even a third set of keys IMMEDIATELY!. If you are traveling on a trip, you should always carry your spares. And so, you should have a third set of keys at home for someone to send if something happens.

Now on a happy note. I just love that bright blue colour. Can't get that over here.

I would have to ask what an 03 VFR is worth in NZ, it is after all a 10 year old bike, might be easier to see if you could pick up another 03 and then at least you would have plenty of spares

    Hi
I lost the keys while moving. 2 separate key rings and large ones at that.
I paid $6k for the bike and thought I was a good deal. done 34kms so about right in this market.

just would like to ride so really need to know if the ECU swap works.

I don't know what wreckers you have over there but I would start emailing all the wreckers in Aus to se if they can come up with an ECU and key. The other bits you could have on other keys.
