Let me start off by saying that I do understand the benefits of having great tires on a bike.
However, I do not plan any super aggressive rides for the remainder of the year and came across this Vee Rubber product which I can have brand new for $60. VRM-367 Edge Sport Radial 180/55r17.
Has anyone ever used those? It's a Thai company that apparently focuses on bicycle and scooter tires.
I cannot find any decent reviews anywhere. Came across someone stating that the tire was very good in dry with decent wear but iffy in wet. That's about it.

I am running a Pilot Road 3 on the front which I bought privately for a great price. My rear is a low end Conti, running thin, and I am not overly happy with it to begin with. I may just save up a bit and get another nice touring PR2 or PR3 or maybe a Battlax but sometimes low price doesn't mean that the product is utter crap, just that maybe it's new and has a hard time breaking through. So I'm simply very curious about this Vee tire. Thanks!

I don't know dude... as the saying goes, the only thing between you and the road is your tires. I can understand watching funds, but there's something about putting on a $60 tire from a "no name" manufacturer who's claim to fame is for scooters and bicycles. I wouldn't do it.

Check around, Search the web. I seem to recall people here saying they picked up a set of PR2's for like $250. I'm not saying they're the best tire, but they are well reviewed. I'm running them now. My rear I had to replace once already, but I got about 8000 miles out of the front. Time for both of them to be replaced. If you're not agressive, you should be able to pull 8-10K miles out of a set.

Yes, I may just end up with something I'm familar with.
However, I don't reject things that are new to me.
The price is also that low because it's 2010 dot. They go for around 100 which is roughly what my Conti was.

I would stay with something more reputable. I hear you on the not wanting to reject things not known to you, but you even said, you can't find anyone else who can review these tires. Let someone else do the try outs and await their reviews.

Or. Seeing as you are a fellow Canajun, how about rear tire like this: index.jpg

They don't even make good quality bicycle tires... You get what you pay for I guess...

Yeah, I'll probably stick with name brands. Just thought maybe someone had positive experiences. You never know with small companies. Although in the tire industry you generally need a decent amount of research and technology.

I put a Shinko on my last bike and found it comparable to the stock Dunlop, if your looking for economy.

You wear a helmet and all the other gear just on the possibility you may have to use them. You are definitely going to use those tires every time you ride. They may be fine or pieces of crap. I'm not the one going to test them out for good or bad. Your life may depend on atgatt; it will depend on these tires.
