    Hi all!
I have wanted one since Honda introduced them while I was in high school & now I've finally got one!

My wife & I were in the great state of Maine on holiday, and like a fool I started looking online(instead of looking at the ocean) and my bike was for sale just 2 blocks from the patio we were sitting on!!! I said never mind, she said lets go look at it. (SO REALLY THIS IS HER FAULT!!!) Bought it and rode it home.

I must confess that while I love the bike, I do miss the roll on torque that my Bandit1200s had. However, I think the VFR is a much better "all-rounder". I had a guy at our local Bike Nite tell me "That it is a gentleman's bike". I'm still trying to figure out if that's good or bad...

This site has a wealth of knowledge & a ton of people who seem willing to share it.

    Cheers
    Phil

P.s. I'd post a pic but I have no idea how to...

Welcome aboard fellow Canukaneese. We like to see pix so post up yours soon as you can. There is a "how To" thread here somewhere but I was just looking for it and cannot find it.

Look at the header bar immediately above. You see "Font" and "Size" etc. Go farther to the right until you see the tree. Click on that icon and an "Insert Image" window appears. Choose where you are grabbing the picture from, normally it would be "From Computer", then click on that choice. I think that is a default anyways. Click "Select Files".

Locate your photo and double click. Your location will show up in that "insert Image" window. Now hit the "upload File(s)" button, If you wish, before you upload, you can add another photo by hitting the "select Files" button again. Soon as you have finished selecting the photos you want to post, wait for them to load then finish you post as normal.

Clear as the Red River during the spring freshette.

Or, as has been explained to me by others, you can just go to the second banner at the top FAQ and it is easily found there. :brick:

That's my new baby. And that's me in the hotel parking lot in Bar Harbor, Maine, trying to figure out how to do the trip permit thing for the ride home...

    Welcome!
Now that you have posted a pic we believe you. Nice clean looking bike. I have to ask though, what is the white cable from the caliper to the brake lever?

Seriously or you pulling our collective legs? Follow that cable down to the disc and you will see a disc lock. The white, (actually I think that is probably faded lime green) cable just loops over the handlebar so that you don't forget it is locked. Trying to move the bike with that lock on it is kinda hard on your rotors.

The lock, fits through one of the holes in your rotor:

The reminder cable just loops over the lock somewhere and then over the handlebar.

If you look closely, you will see that cable goes below the caliper to a red lock on the rotor, a bit different that the example I posted.

Yep, it's a disc lock. I figured if it's sitting in the parking lot without a plate on it I should at least make an attempt to deter a theft...

OK. I can accept that! JK.

Disc locks are handy, don't take up too much room in a tank bag. Can be heavy tho, depending on what you get. Just don't move with it still attached! That could get pricey... Hence the brightly colored reminder cable...
