It's me again.... long time no post, eh?

Well, winter finally left and I picked up my bike from the Hindle factory. I love the way it looks and the way it sounds, and I am the new, self-proclaimed Hindle sales rep for 6th gen VFR owners! Get a HINDLE!! They are AWESOME! Here are some pics....

I'm curious to see a couple photos of their 20" titanium round stealth cans. Also curious what they sound like on a VFR, and what kind of SPL that would create vs. the stock cans. Is there a "quiet" insert like Arrow offers on their street cans?

Not in the market right now, maybe a winter project.

I think the 20 inch would be way too long for the 6th gen VFRs. But the titanium would look good (I actually tried them on, I should have taken a picture now that I think about it). There are two types of mufflers that Hindle sells, supersport and stealth (the quieter cans). They are the same price. I opted for the louder ones.... What is an SPL?

I know I know, vman38 is being nice enough to post them for me since I suck at all things even remotely technical......

But, there is a sound clip in my gallery which you can listen to! :)

I like that my VFR doesn't rattle windows (like the V&H system on my GS500) but the "grumble" of the stock system isn't that exciting to listen to. So the Stealth cans interst me. SPL = Sound Pressure Level, another way of saying how loud something is. In other words, I'd like to know how much louder these cans would be vs. the stock cans, measured the exact same way with the same equipment.

    Hello,

I'm only too happy to have done the leg work... I was hoping I'd be the first on the block with the 6th gen Hindles but looks like a few people beat me to it (or at least they ordered the stuff before I was able to pick up my bike).

They do sell the Hindles for 2001s and previous years. Those are the single pipe ones, so you'll see a cost savings since they have one muffler, and the adaptor may be cheaper as well. Apparently the 6th gen is a bitch (can I say that on here?) to produce.

Here are the retail prices for the Hindles:

    HI802SOHSS $199.95 (Slip-on Adapters for 2002-2007 VFR800)
GPR142OV or GPR162OV $324.95 (Oval Aluminum Muffler Right Side)
GPR142OVL or GPR162OVL $324.95 (Oval Aluminum Muffler Left Side)

Anodized mufflers (red, blue or black) cost $50 more each, titanium
mufflers cost $100 more each and carbon fiber mufflers cost $200 more
each than the aluminum mufflers. Mufflers are available in Stealth or
    Supersport baffles.

Is it just me or do these prices seem way high? After a lot of searching the internet, and relying on my memory of such, I want to say an Arrow titanium exhaust for the 6th gen would run about $850 plus shipping. This setup runs over a grand, and it's not been shipped or taxed. At that rate I could pick up a titanium Demon ti setup if I can hit the exchange rates just right. Thoughts?

I forgot to mention this is in Canadian dollars (less than US). You should not have to pay shipping because you would pick it up from your local bike shop (they would order it in for you).

Hi, it was about $950 canadian, I got the black mufflers so it was an extra hundred bucks. All in all, tax refund very well spent....

I think I'll probably hold out on these, as it doesn't seem any cheaper to go the Hindle route vs. Arrow, assuming the "quiet" Arrow's with the insert installed really are as quiet as their website claims to be.

Truth be told, I'm most interested in the Devil titanium's but boy that's a spendy option...
