I have a modified stock exhaust, its basically fully gutted. I find it a bit loud, and also it sputters and makes backfire noises when letting off the throttle sometimes.

    Should I:

    a) go back to stock (Anyone going to sell me their stock exhaust?)
    b) install some sort of baffle/packing (I don't know much about this)
    c) install a power commander 3 (not sure if this will help, but its a thought)
    d) ???

For now, I am thinking go back to stock, would be ideal if someone nearby had one they would sell me.

You can get rid of some of the cracking on decel by disabling the PAIR system. 1 marble stuck in the right hose will do it.

cruzmissle where are you located? I am in South Florida (Palm Beach County)

I do plan on getting a PC3 for sure, but would love to quiet the exhaust, potentially return to stock. I have not had a VFR long enough to be bored with the stock sound

signal: I'm allllllll the way up in PA. Not sure how much it will cost to ship as it probably weighs in between ship anchor and baby gorilla.

Curious if you switched the exhaust or kept the gutted one? I was thinking of ported exhaust as well but not sure if that will require a remap.

I switched, well, sort of. It will be here today (two brothers black carbon fiber), and I will throw it on, so no looking back :)

I put on my Two Brothers Black Carbon Fiber exhaust today. Made a big difference (in the way it sounds). I have the included suppressor in, and I like the note of the exhaust alot better, i find it less obnoxious and much more comfortable (doesn't ring my head), especially while cruising at lower speeds. I don't normally cruise at lower speeds, because its so uncomfortable on the VFR, the bike just doesn't like it, but I am installing a PCV in a week or so, and hopefully with the TBR exhaust and the PCV, my bike gets a new personality.
