Newbie Here, saying Hi!

Hello all, my name is Donnie.

I just picked up this 1986 VFR750 with 23,000 miles and plan to try to restore it back to as close to original as possible. It seems that people know their stuff here so I hope I can get some good advice when I need it. Have a good one !

Hey all! Here's an update on my resto...check the pics! I was able to fix the cracks on the tail and the lowers, but the upper was a total mess and I had to replace it with a piece from Beasley. What do you guys think?...I took the pieces to my painter this week and should be ready in about two weeks. I guess I will see how it looks then...

 

Here's the latest on my project after the bodywork has been painted and installed on the bike...

Here are a couple more pictures for you guys. It's almost finished, just a few minor details to take care of but I did get it out and ride it a few miles for the first time today!

Before riding it you need to check tire pressures ALWAYS, running aboot 36f/40r. Next check charging system output or risk getting stranded. Also, you need to confirm the thermoswitch that kicks on the fan is doing it's job or risk overheating.

Change out the coolant, brake fluid, fork oil, engine oil and filter, check air filter, etc.
