just bought a '86 vfr 700. previous bike that i learned on was a kz 750b.
i was looking for a sport bike to learn on and came across '86 for $500 that is running and title in hand.
figured i couldn't lose at that price.
need to look around here and search all i can.
nice site and thanks for looking.

well rev it doesn't look to good but...
i know two guys who paint and both need some welding and fabricating done so looks like we will be making a deal hopefully.
oh yeah by the way i'm a welder and have a little set up at the house not much just a little bit.
one of the guys just picked up a you weld dune buggy kit/sand rail for like $200 so i told him that would be next winter's project.
i should at least get a paint job out of that i think.
right now my main concern is getting the bike to run good. it starts and runs but wants to cut off below 2000 rpm. i'm just assuming thats from sitting for a couple years.
looks like last inspectoin was up sept. 04.
not much of a mechanic though so we will see how that goes. i friend of mine is a bike mechanic so i'm sure he will be looking at it.

sounds like a pretty good deal especially if you can get a lot of the work done free. I'd drain all the fluids out and then run some seafoam through a couple tanks of gas unless you're gonna actually pull the carbs and 'really' clean them... check those brakes really well. the rubber parts get dried out as do the tires and that gets dangerous.
