First I wanted to thank all of you who helped answer my questions on what to look for when buying a new VFR. I picked up my 2007 Anniversary Edition on Saturday and had a nice hour ride home on it. What a bike!! Then, today, I gave it my version of a full look over (I washed it). The bike is pristine, and the lines are so beautiful. I'm already in love with it and I haven't taken it on the twisties yet. Some pics below:

I'm thinking to make some mods to make it even better, and am open to hearing what you guys have done to yours that you'd do, and not do, if you could do it over.

    Nice score, congrats!

How do you like the seat? Most 6th gen owners on here will recommend an aftermarket seat (Sargent, Corbin, or custom) if you find your butt getting sore after a longer ride.

The seat was okay for my ride home. If I end up going on more day trips I may upgrade, but the aftermarket seats are a few dollars! I was thinking about helibars, but was looking at the stock bars and seeing if there was a way to raise them up a little bit for free.

Nice looking machine DM and welcome to the WORLD. As with all who enter the domain of the VFR, you will come to love the bike as much as the rest of us. Of course this is merely my own opinion, but I feel it fair to say that it is fairly accurate.

Enjoy the bike. WE KNOW YOU WILL.............

Welcome to the site. Nice ride.

Regarding the seat. Each to their own. But before you go out and spend a fair chunk of change on a Sergent or Corbin, try to see if you can find someone who has one to test out for a few hours in the saddle. I rode mine for a couple years on the stock, including a ride from Canada to central California. Several asked about how comfortable I found the ride and I could not say I found the stock seat that bad. But caving into common opinions, I bought a Sergent. It is a nice seat, but I really did not see the difference between the two.

So try one out, before you lay down the cash.

Thanks. I rode it an hour home and didn't find the seat that bad. I also don't take too many trips over a few hours, so I probably won't worry about the seat until I'm taking longer rides more regularly. I did however, find a used set of heli-bars for a 6th gen (was on a 2006) on ebay for just over half the cost of new ones...so I jumped on them.

Ya. I have a set of those too. Been on my bench for over a year now. Bought them off a friend who never installed them on his RWB. He bought them off another friend who never installed them on his 04. They were still in their original packaging when I got them for $100.00. Maybe I will install them before mine hits 100,000 miles for the second time around.

I remember seeing this bike for sale. You don't forget the red/blue wheel combo. Welcome!

Damn, I should have offered to buy yours :)

Durk, yes, you don't forget the colored wheels. They looked "blah" when I saw the bike and I wasn't a big fan, but cleaned up, they look AWESOME! The bike was a steal regardless. I picked up a centerstand, rear grab handle covers and helibars and still came in under what I thought was a reasonable price. Everything else on the bike is flawless.

Now if it'd just stop raining here in Southern CT so I can go ride!
