So I just purchased a set of 2 bro slip-on exhaust for my 07 vfr. After my purchase, I was doing some research on how to install so that when they arrived, I could hop right on the task....but....come to find out, only the right exhaust is connected. The left exhaust is for show only and does absolutely nothing. For some reason, this is bothering me and I am tempted to return them as I have yet to install. Is this something to be concerned about or is that typical of basically any slip-on and I just need to get over it? Seems kind a cheesy to have only one working exhaust on a dual exhaust system...also....isn't the right one going to turn a little yellow from the heat while the other one will remain bright and shiny......

    hhmmmmmmm.....what to do..?

Yep that's just how Two Bros does it. According to the info on their website routing all the exhaust flow to only one pipe is supposed to help improve HP and torque on the VFR compared to the twin canister design.

I used to have a Two Bros c/f "Stash" slip-on exhaust on my '03 and the "S bend" midpipe was the only thing that turned a nice light gold color from the heat. Looked kinda nice actually.

Well I s'pose you could always toss the left side exhaust can on the parts shelf like I did. After all it's just 2.7 pounds of useless crap that's hanging on your bike doing nothing......

......and run just the working right side exhaust can like I did. The open look of the left side does take a bit of getting used to though.

    No, it won't.

A 4:2:1 system sounds awesome. I loved my Two Bros. M-2 and would recommend it to anyone.

Honestly, your complaint makes you sound like a little girl.

I usually do a "muffler swap" once a year or so, while I've got everything apart to even out the appearance of the mufflers. I have a catless header and a tune so my tips stay kinda dirty. But I honestly, I go to the track so much, that the dummy can is never on the bike anyways.

Thats a real pretty 2.7 lbs of useless crap. Almost a crime to leave it off the bike.

I agree that only using 1 muffler is cheezy. I saw that on the Two Bros site and I was like "really??" I couldn't have something like that on my bike.....it would drive me insane just knowing that. And not only that, but since Two Bros are so commercial and available anywhere you look, most everybody has one.

I think it is more pointless having a 4-2-1-2 exhaust. That would truly drive me insane. Some people are more conserned about appearance than performance/function.... To each his own.

I like my stash system. I was at a bike show last week and the Harley doods were quite impressed with it's stealth qualities as well as the fit and finish. I keep my chain lube in there so it is quite functional when out touring.
