Me to, love the bike, take it most of the time. Only take the cage when the kids are involved. Mine was a demo and now shows 13,000ish km's. I've put 6k on in 2 months, on track to beat my usual 10-12k a season.

It will be interesting to see how the 7th gen holds up. My 6th has been outstanding as far as I am concerned. 102K miles and the problems I had I consider routine maintenance. The big ones were cam chain tensioners somewhere around 35K miles, a rectifier somewhere around that time, anda stator in the 70K mile range.

Mine is a 2010 manual and I have 38,000 miles on the clock. I use it every day in all weathers (apart from snow!) to commute into London where I work and for playing at the weekends/evenings. I've had the rear shock changed once, had some problems on the front brakes (in the winter, they throw down loads of salt and grit which seems to play havoc with the VFR12 front brakes) which were fixed under warranty and a cracked side panel - though I've just noticed it's cracked again! It's averaged 42.2mpg (UK gallon) in the 29,000 miles I've done on it since I bought it.

I'd say it's still looking very good for the mileage on it - and it still makes me grin whenever I ride it.

    Cheers

    Pete
