As part of my restoration, I'd like to eliminate the rear fender on my Interceptor. I know it's been done and the bike looks even sharper afterwards, but I have yet to find any info or pics with details on how it's done. If anyone here can help with advice, info, and pictures, I'd really appreciate it. I have a spare rear fender, so if cutting is necessary, I can experiment with it and not ruin the original.

    Thanks.

    From Wikipedia,

Restoration; "To restore an article that has been deleted"

You mean, make it cooler or update it. Life is short so if you have an extra, cut away. If you don't have an extra... cut away anyway!

True, true. Perhaps I should have said, as part of my bike's rejuvenation, or revitalization, or....

I did a fender mod on my F. Everything was trimmed and blended except a little section where there are 2 small angled ribs up in the inner corner. I used that area to mount a plate bracket and have a little LED license plate bolt for the tabs.

The mod on your bike looks exactly like what I have in mind. Any chance you can post a couple close-ups of the tail? Thanks.

Here's a couple pics. Look under your fender and you'll see the area I'm talking about. I used a straight bit of aluminum and just use spacers behind the plate to clear the center bolts. Simple and effective. The light I have in the pic was a temporary solution before I got some LED bolts so I was legal at night.
