COME ON NOW!!! Comparing an RC51 or Superhawk to a GSXR1000 is ludicrous. The GSXR is quicker, faster, lighter, better handling, more comfortable-EVERY TEST WILL VERIFY THIS! The RC51 is a COOL and UNIQUE bike(I wont even bother with the VTR1000),and it's a Honda, but if you've been there and done that you probably wouldn't have gone back. Did I mention that I just picked up an 06 GSXR1000 and think it's incredible. Despite this,if I were to keep one bike it would NO DOUBT be the VFR800. Oh, and about that project bike,I wish you luck and think it sounds cool-STILL NO GSXR!

For a start - TAZ - uyou have too many damn Bikes !!
Im enjoying the Bike . I think the above poster is correct , I doubt I can cruise around on another bike like I do on the Viffer . Plus , due to it not being a super , not many people actually KNOW the bike , so it draws more than enough attention at robots/malls/coffee shops .

I feel better now . Shot Taz !!

The VFR is the nicest combination of both worlds. Comfortable enough for those longer rides and when you get to the twisty bits there's ample ability in the bike to perform around corners. Remember the pedigree that this line of bikes comes from - racing bikes.

The only drawback to the bike is the fact that, at the end of a long day in the saddle, we tend to be far more mobile and have to do all the walking to the bar to get drinks for the other, more unfortunate, riders who have the more agressive seating positions...

Handle better than the RC51, I'll argue with you on that all day long,
But don't go down on that GSXR 1000:eek: , the frames on them are a P.O.S. & are braking left & right.
A friend crashed on his @ the track 2 weekends ago (low sided) & didn't even bend his handle bars, but the frame was broken(& not @ the weld).
i'm on many sights talking & the big talk from stunters, canyon racers, & Track racers is the frames are braking & very easy with little drop or impact.
Don't get me wrong, I've owned, raced Suzuki's & think the GSXR 750 is one of the best sport bikes made:wink: .
but the 1000, if givin to me, i'd sell it or trade it for a Suz 750.
The ultimate all around bike would be a VFR 1000 or 1100:smile: , but I'll just sit back & hope & dream on that one:biggrin: .

is that your 1995 posted in craigslist? If not - there is one for sale with GIVI luggage and new tires - listed in Chapel Hill, NC (looks to be stock exhaust).

good deal on the CBR - I'm enjoying the 2007 VFR that you guys sold me!

Well, 1089 miles later, I'm still loving the new 600RR. It's fast...faster than my VFR, but I do miss that V4 growl and seamless torque. On the flip side, this thing handles like its on rails....so easy to go fast and smooth, so solid and planted, and so forgiving too. I hate to say it, but I have not even cranked up the beloved VFR since I got the RR.
I'm still totally undecided on whether or not to sell the VFR. Most of my riding continues to be short around town scoots, or dedicated rides in the twisties...both of which suite the CBR very very well.
Unless my riding buddies get the bug for some long distance riding, I'm afraid the VFR is going to be sold....I'd rather see it being ridden by someone who will appreciate it rather than have it sit in my garage.....oh poo...what to do? heh
