Sorry for your misfortune! From what I have been told by morethan a few people is that Honda has the best plastics for doing plastic weld. Hang on to them.

You have the skill and patience, but just don't know it. As for time...well I can understand that one and if you have the cash...then do it. Once I was taught how to fix ABS plastic (which is what is on most sportbikes) I got really angry at the prices charged. I have yet to plastic weld ABS because there are a ton of epoxy adhesive products that work the same as the welder and are not as expensive. Trust me, I don't do repairs all the time. I just was around someone who has and they showed me and I used to have a job were I fixed plastic/ fiberglass occasionally...so that's were the knowlegde comes from.

And I'll be attempting some completely NEW techniques and new product on the repairs I have left to do. Pictures will be posted with how to!

How much would I charge? Hmmm

Pictures are hard to determine things, but it appears the plastic is not cracked correct? If no cracks, and someone wanted to hire me?

With paint, I would say the repairs in materials would cost you 250.00. As for labor? I really don't know. 150-200, but I would rather teach it to someone than charge them for it.

And time it would take. If I could totally focus on it, and the weather was 70-80 degrees. Two days tops!

    Thanks BZ,
I think 'm just going to have it all fixed (replaced) at the shop using my insurance (i just want to get it back on the road) and maybe try to repair the scratched parts later.

    That's cool!

This past weekend I finished appliying a new tab on the seat cowl I bought off e-bay last year. Found it for 30 bucks, but one of the back tabs was snapped off.

It was a real learning experiance making a "new" tab.

That will be posted soon too!

    Hey all...

    My bike is all fixed!

It looks brand new again (of course, all fairings were replaced except one).
I ended up getting Michelin Pilot Powers, and a new Puig double bubble wind screen (the rest were factory Honda parts)

I will post pics soon, and will also post my extra parts in the for sale section (and on ebay) very soon.

Now, I gotta get my riding confidence back. I was so timid riding the bike home from the shop. Maybe it's because my wallet was so empty, I was out of balance!

Congrats on getting it all fixed up. Good choice on the Powers.

Thanks wii. I should have it out this weekend (weather permitting) and get some 'after' shots taken.

The tires (so far) feel really nice. I'm not done with my 100 mile 'break in' period yet, so I haven't done too much on them yet (I'm still riding pretty timid), but from what I hear, and what I've experienced so far, they seem like they will be great tires.

    I'll post pics this weekend!

Ive got Pilot Road tyres, they seem OK, but wouldnt be as sticky as yours.

I reckon if you get the chance to do track day - go for it. I live no where near a track, but would love to try it.

I reckon it would improve your confidence and make you a better safer rider.

Dont worry about falling off on the track. Im sure you could do a lot of track work without falling off. Im a naturally cautious rider.

I love my Pilot Powers and though I have slipped a couple times, they were due to horsepower/torque > traction. I can't fault the tires one bit. I live in NE Washington State and there are mornings when it is chilly but the tires warm up and stick. Perhaps don't last as long as I would like but stick is a very valuable trait that often costs tire life-perhaps they'll fix this someday but I am certain it'll cost!
