Hey Everyone, I have an 05' interceptor and i seem to be having a problem with what i think has to do with the fuel delivery system. It is constantly surging as if there is no fuel going through in spurts. Feels like violently/sparratically turning the throttle on/off while riding. I was told most likely the fuel filter in the tank, i changed it and did not help. I live in a small town and no shop here has the technology to plug it into a computer and read error codes... If anyone has had the same problem and figured it out, i'll appreciate any help i can get. Thanks!!
Have you try to take a look inside the airbox and air filter, there might be plug up by little critters How many miles on the bike and what is the maintenance record? Give us a little more info so we can give you better answer. I am not sure if it a fuel issue
i was just recently in the airbox and replaced the airfilter, thanks for the suggestion. it has about 15,000 miles on it and ive kept it up to date on oil changes/ regular maintenance. other than regualr maintenance i havent gone too far into it and the crappy shops in my town dont even wanna try to troubleshoot it. it started with my bike dying while in an idle at about 1500rpm. for example stopping at a red light and holding the clutch in, it would just die. I chalked it up to bad gas the first time. now its progressed to surging while im riding the bike at any rpm. as i say, it feels like violently twisting and letting go of the throttle while riding. i can watch the tacometer jump down then back up everytime it surges. thats kinda the best explanation i can give, i hope this helps... thanks again for the help
