A multi-day ride on the island would be great...could start in Victoria, head over to Renfrew, go up to Lake Cowichan (active logging road from Renfrew to Cowichan is fully paved now), over to Cowichan Bay, up to Parksville and then up island. I've always wanted to go do the Gold River run but haven't gotten the chance. It's a looong 10 ish hour day (which was a super long and painful day on my RC) from where I am or an over-nighter somewhere around Comox.

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the forum. Glad to see you were bright enough to buy the fastest color.

I don't think Long could handle a yellow bike. He'd twist the throttle on and it would snap his spine. Oh wait...that's right. He doesn't have a spine and that's why he won't own a yellow bike.

I checked it. There is no noticeable wobble or play, but the brakes are dragging. The wheel will only free-spin for 1/4 rotation before stopping. Pretty even resistance all around but one small area actually produces a tone like a tuning fork if I turn the wheel backwards. So I will need to read up on adjusting the brakes. I have a service manual on it's way, hopefully it gets here soon (I do have the PDF version).

Also, a ride over to Tofino or Long Beach. Gold river Hwy 28 is a really nice road. Or it was prior to 1989 when I moved away. Have they ever paved the gold River to Tahsis Hwy? Campbell River could also be an over night spot too.
