Hello all. I live in Seattle. Love the VFRs. This is #4 for me: 2003 Honda VFR (current). It's my only bike (at the moment), and also "my car", as I sold my Honda Accord and my wife and I are saving up for a Toyota Tacoma we can jack up and go baja-ing in on the weekends...ya know, with the VFR strapped down in the back for "side road rides" ;) Thankfully, my wife has a Accord Hybrid we share for shuttling us about Seattle on some of the crappier weather days we have here, but I commute to work every day on my bike.

Former bikes, in reverse chronological order (well, some I owned at the same time): 1999 Honda CBR1100XX "Blackbird", 1997 Kawa KLR650 (heavily modified), 1999 Honda CBR900RR, 1997 Honda VFR750F, 2002 Honda VFR800FI Interceptor, 2001 Ducati 750 Sport (1/2 fairing - matte black), 1982 Kawa KZ550 LTD blacked-out cafe racer (hey, I was in college), 1998 Honda VFR800FI, 2001 Ducati Monster 750 (first street bike - July 2002). Total mileage on bikes ~ 130,000 miles and counting.

Fun trivia: For 8 years, from June of 2001 through July of 2009, I didn't own a car - I just rode one or two of the ten street motorcycles I've now owned, for everything, everywhere, putting on between 13,500 - 18,000 miles per year.

I've been hit twice by cars (only bikes were damaged - I'm still in one piece), dumped a bike on a test ride (my first VFR - the 1998 VFR800FI) because of an as$*ole driver and literally "had to" buy the bike that afternoon from the seller (I was already "sold on it" and was going to buy it anyways, but that was a weird start to my first "VFR love"), and my wife and I looking forward to moving to the Huntington Beach, California area in the fall, so maybe I'll hit some of you guys up down in the socal area once we're in town.

    See y'all around.

    Blaine

Welcome. Ever thought of keeping a bike long enough to change the oil? JK of course. Seems you ride somewhat like I used to. Even caught in the snow a few times. I know it is hard to believe, but Chilliwack gets more rain than Seattle. I am camping nearby right now and will be in Seattle for a few hours tomorrow.

Those guys down in SoCal are a bizarre bunch. Be careful with them..very careful. They will drag you down drinking and carousing.
