Great write up! Followed the guide and installed the new shock without drama. I also cut a small arc out of the edge of the reservoir to allow extra space for the wiring loom. A 10 min job with a dremel & abrasive wheel. Although the loom wasn't touching, I wanted to give it a bit more clearance to be safe.

Some things I found during my install....
    - worth checking the metal collars and bearings (& seals) which the bolts of the lower triangle run in. One of mine was stiff and needed loosening off.
    - The top collar of the shock doesn't need to spin, and when torqued up the top bolt holds the shock tightly (the shock doesn't rotate about its top bolt). I didn't know this at first and it caused me some angst and head scratching...

I'm glad to hear that you found the thread helpful. Hope you enjoy the new shock as much as I have enjoyed mine.
