Hi! I'm new to this forum. I have been reading some of the interesting threads and looking forward to restorate my VF 750 F.

I have some basic tool skills. I jused to race a CBR 600 FX 1999 and the most advanced work I did on that one was changing the gearbox.

Front forks are leaking. I have not done this repair before. Should I go to a workshop or is this a fairly easy fix?

The engine looks like it could use a new gasket :) How would you rate this one? Work for pro's?

Furthermore a carburettor need new seals and that's it for passing inspection as far as I can see.

What upgrades would you recommend? It's has a standard shock and as far as I can read I should change that one? It already has braided lines. Rear wheel is mounted with a 130 wide tire? What do you think about that?

    Thanks in advance

If the bike is new to you and you don't know its history, before you spend a penny, take off the valve covers and look at all the camshaft lobes very very carefully.

It's new to me. Just brought it home. This has something to do with the bad lubing?

Yes. The VF750 was pretty badly affected by the camshaft wear problem starting around 1983. Just check them before you spend any money to make sure you are not wasting your time, in the engine department at least. If you google the problem you will find reams of stuff about the issue. It has been very well documented although some dispute the root cause. Ultimately the cause doesn't matter, you just need to find out if your engine is OK or not.
