On each of the coils there is a green terminal and black terminal. Can anyone look on their bike and tell me what color wires connect to the GREEN terminal? My bike is a '92. I'm not sure if polarity matters on these coils (it doesn't on either of my Yamahas). They way they're hooked up now (the PO was also trying to diagnose this no-spark issue, so only God knows if he hooked them back up correctly...) doesn't match up exactly with the circuit diagram. It looks like either one coil is mis-wired or three coils are mis-wired, the diagram is a little ambiguous. So if anyone could go out and see how the coils are connected on a running bike, it would save me a bit of troubleshooting! Thanks!
black would be ground side, green would be the various dif colors for dif cyc. ie #2 is yellow/white to green. the blue/white stripe at all coils is ground and goes to black
That's exactly the info I was looking for. I was confused bc of another discrepancy between the Haynes Manual and the Service Manual: HAYNES: SERVICE MANUAL: Notice that in the Haynes manual, the wires on the #4 coil seem to be reversed compared to the other coils, so I thought maybe #4 had to be wired differently. Plus, both diagrams give the impression that the colored wire attaches to the terminal "across" from the plug wire. Or maybe that's just me looking too deep into things, lol. I just want the damn thing to fire!
