My bike is an 86 vf500f. The slave leaks so much that I carry brake fluid everywhere I go so I can add some when it gets low. I replaced the seals twice and the piston once with no improvments. I have come to the conclusion that the metal on the cylinder itself has worn to a larger inside diamater (the clymer manual actually states that this will happen and there is a listed service limit..which mine appears to be way past). If I press the piston in with my thumb I can see fluid bubble from the seam between piston OD and cylinder ID.

So I want a new assembly. One that isnt worn out :frown:. I see on ebay that there are a lot to choose from but prices range from $20 to $50.
Does anyone know if I can put a slave from a 750 on my 500? or if the engine size made any difference on this part? I read in another similiar thread that all 1st and 2nd gen slaves are the same, but the poster said that they didnt know about the engine size compatability.

i want this one Honda VF750F VF700F Clutch Slave Cylinder 83 85 | eBay but only if its going to work lol

All I can tell you is that they have different part numbers, '86 VF500F 22860-MF2-003, '84 VF750F 22860-MB2-003
