Could someone post a picture of a seat cowl cut to fit over the passenger grab rails. Interested in doing this but hesitant to cut up a stock cowl without seeing it.

The 6th gen seat cowl fits around the grab rails. I've never seen someone cut up a 5th gen cowl to do this. Plus I don't think it would look right.

There was a post that showed a 5th Gen "cut" to allow it to fit with the handles, I don't recall however, what the thread title was. I thought it was someone in the UK or Ireland that was looking for an "uncut" one, either to buy or trade.

If that's your "trying" hand, you should have no fear in trying sky diving. I had to do a double take on the photo of the front view, looks good.

The pshop looks good but I don't like the look of the 5th gen with the cowl and grab handles. It just doesn't look right.

Thanks for the compliment OOTSV. I agree with Durk. Doesn't look quite right. Better to find out now than after I cut the cowl.

I think it looks cool...but then again not so much. Are you intending on leaving them on for a purpose or just because? I use mine as anchor points for Cortech tail bag and saddlebags. If you were going to use them for something similar, I see you have hard bags already, I'd say go for it otherwise I'd say lose them.

I was just looking at it as a styling excercise. I like the look of the grab rails and thought the cowl by itself looked kind of plain, but they don't seem to work that well together. I'll just leave them be.

Always wanted to do it. Sick of screwing on and off the handles for 2 up riding plus I love the look of the cowl. Used a dremmel with a straight bit. Taped off whole side to not scratch and keep cut edge clean. Measured 3 times to make sure both sides were even. Had a drink or 2 for the nerves. Lined area with the help of a round object such as a tuna can. Cut came out clean and hugs handle. Looks stock and I think the look is good. No more on and off.

That is really nice, clean, well done - if I didn't know better I'd say it was factory. I reverse my previous opinion.
