My MIL (engine check light) is flashing ONE flash every 2 seconds constantly whilst riding:confused:or sidestand down in neutral idling (for those that don't know that is another way of checking your codes without having to jump under the seat). Have reset it numerous times and still the same. Bike is going EXTREMELY well, even slowly. Cannot clear it, tried everything I know, removed every fuse, relay, globe, ECM, battery all to no evail. Has anyone experienced this, (I did search) or maybe have a solution?

    Cheers Rusty

Code 1 on the fifth and sixth gens are a MAP sensor or associated wiring fault. I asssume code 1 on the seventh gen is the same thing. Bike will still run fine without MAP in most circumstances

I just checked the manual, and code 1 is indeed MAP sensor, more specifically an abnormal constant out-of-range voltage. It goes on to say the computer will go into failsafe mode and assume a MAP of 760mm hg (atmospheric pressure around these parts) and will run normally. Now you know where to look.

Hi, thanks I should have mentioned that I have already checked that. And yes you assume right code 1 is the MAP sensor on the 7th Gen..
Been there done that so to speak, I have one as well, section 6-16/17, problem being that it is ONE flash, not 1 long followed by 1 or 2 shorts, plus it is longer than 1.3 seconds. Have cleared it many times, but this will not go away.
I guess I should have put more info. in my post, I apologise. At this stage I don't have either a replacement MAP or ECM to eliminate either. Just hoping that somebody else had experienced this.

    Cheers Rusty

I have a 2010 VFR1200 DCT It was damaged in a flood. Everything works except Indicators are all dead. Biggest worry is flashing engine warning light.
3 long flashes followed by 4 short. Anyone know what this code means?
