new to vfr hopefully! lol

Hello all my name is steven and im looking into getting a 1986 vf500f interceptor for 1,995 from a bike dealer it says that it has a fresh rebuild! i was wondering if thats a good price and how hard they are to find parts for?? its going to be my first bike dont really want to go the 250 route. Ive always liked the vfrs my pops had an 83 750 (pearl white and red) and we used to go on long rides! any real and solid advice would go a long way in my decision. i am not against learning to fix my own bike. it is yellow in color thanks!

 

well i guess NO one on VFR world can give me any simple advice?? anyone??

 

The price sounds a little high, but that can be expected if the seller is a dealership. I would only pay that much if the bike were nearly immaculate, freshly and fully serviced, had new tires, and came with a warranty.

 

ok thank you ill have to ask about a warranty. i have not checked it out in person yet but it looks really clean!

 

Unless it is in excellent condition with low miles, I'd say the price is too high. However, the rebuild would still raise a red flag for me. What exactly was rebuilt and why?
