    Hi Folks,

New to the forum so hello everyone from Inverness.

Just about to sell my 2007 Hornet FA7 and have been looking at the Triumph ST1050's but a 2006 VFR has come up with only 7500 miles from new and one owner locally. Its totally standard. So this has caught my eye and having always liked Honda's i am seriously considering this.

I have been trawling through the various posts trying to get an understanding of how tall riders get on with the 6th gen vfr. I am 6"2 and around 95Kg and so want to know if this is going to be a good bike for me. I dont want a sports bike had them in the past and felt them very uncomfy, so looking for something thats not a slouch but is comfy at the same time want the best of both worlds.

So my only concern is that its not greatly suited to taller folk so looking for some advice please.

    Cheers
    Mark

    :welcome: Mark
You can always install tall windscreen or touring to help block out the wind.
Also you can get lower peg to help your long legs. Good luck with the purchase
You cannot go wrong with VFR

Cheers for the reply, yes had a CBF1000 couple of years back and dont think the wind noise and buffeting can me any worse than that was, like you say larger screen drop the pegs and should be fine. Dont think it would be as sore on the wrists as the RR5 blade i also had a while back.

Cheers again will let you know how it goes, getting a shot of a mate of a mates 2007 during the week so get out a run on that and see what like.

What about shorter dogbones? Does the VFR800 SSSA have the same linkage as a conventional swingarm? I'm 6 foot even and I found that with shorter dogbones and a longer shock I was able to raise my rear end almost 2".

    Hey mpgscott

FWIW, I am now on my 4th VFR (had an 85 VF1000F, 91,97 and now 2000 VFR) and the only thing I might add to the VFR would be some heli-bars to help you sit a bit more upright. I am 6'-1' and 90kg (180 lbs) and I find the VFR is a fantastic bike, and that it is sporty feeling enough that I can have fun in the twisties and still be able to ride all day without much issue on comfort. Another thing you might want to add for some extra comfort would be a Sergent seat to get a little more comfort on the longer rides.

Thanks for the feedback, i have to do around 100mile commute few times a week so comfort is a biggy. My hornet is decent but just with it being naked its a bit of a pain so thinking the VFR would be a good move. The problem is that i dont want it too sporty so helibars maybe the way to go. I will get on my pals and see what like it feels. Contemplating a Z1000 and the ST1050 as well so need to make up my mind..
