Hi Guys!! do they make frame sliders that you do not have to drill through your fairing?? I have a 2007 VFR 800 and I really don't want to put a hole in it. I'd appreciate any help....THANKS
Yeah there is a british company that sells some that put a stainless steel brace over your radiator and locate the frame slider there, I have heard that in a crash these things save your fairings....and demolish your radiator. but I cant attest to the truth of those rumors. Id say drill the fairing. I still havent done it myself though....its just too pretty with no holes in it.....
Here is an old thread with pics when I installed my motovation sliders with modifications to the coolant bottle. If you dont want to modify your bottle go with R&G which have a replacement that wont interfere with the slider. http://vfrworld.com/forums/modifications/4236-2006-frame-sliders.html
it looks like the picture in this thread are the street model sliders. rather than a straight bolt they use a barcket that mounts just behind the radiator. the attached picture are the street sliders and brackets.
Question regarding the drilled hole size for both R&G and Motovation. Is it the size of the outside diameter of the frame slider?
I would like to get these! Could you please let me know where you got these? I really like the way they look, and the fact you dont have to drill in the fairing. Thanks
My new frame sliders! Just got new frame sliders. I didn't have to cut any plastics or modify anything. Just bolt it on. If anyone is looking for these let me know I will put you in touch with the guy I bought them from. They do come from belgium, so be prepared to wait a week or two for them. I included a picture of the sliders installed on my bike. The installation is easy and anyone that knows how to use a socket set can install these.
Previous owner installed these HPS sliders.....driveway drop has proved them worthy. Kits for 6th generation also. www.hpsbike.com
The link that you provided isn't working . Would you please check the website name again? thanks in advance! Eric
I Googled "hps bike" and found a good hit within the first several choices. Otherwise, try: Welcome to HPS - Performance Parts for your Motorcycle Prices appeared in British Pounds as I just now checked. Nonetheless, they should be available to the U.S. market. Let me know if you still can't find them. Andy
The hole for the R & G Sliders are 1.1 inches/28mm. Just follow the instructions, be patient and use a dremal.
try Oggy Knobs from australia. I read that they work pretty good. Try not to throw your bike on the ground
