    What up guy?
Well im great. I bought a new '01 vfr800 fi today. Im on my phone so i dont know how to post pictures on it yet. Im also the proud owner of a 2010 cbr1000rr.. Or, i was. A friend of mine lost his car to his now ex-wife so i let him use my bike so he could get to and from work. Needless to say. My bike was not insured and he crashed it. I am unable to afford a new one .
Well so here i am. A vfr owner. For only $1,800!
My ride to get tag and title was great. Just like any honda ive been on its fast, handles great, and a little easier on the back than my old cbr.
But i have a problem.. she UGLY, and FAT! And im sorry vfr lovers but it is!
I want to change how she looks. I want to put her on a diet and shave pounds off. And i want to do it now. So after looking at her for 5 hours a light bulb kicked in to google search a vfr forum.
While i was lookin at her i couldnt help but constantly thinking about the swingarm, yea its beautiful. But its heavier than my cbrs dual sided. Also i keep wanting it to look mean like my cbr.
My brother is a motorcycle tech, so before i go up to him with a plan i want to put a part list together for him.
So if somebody could give advice or links on vfr street fighters or cbr convesions it would be great.

Congrats and welcome aboard. Sounds like you want to make some pretty radical changes, but there are other things you can consider to make her look "better", and possibly a little sleeker. As well as shaving off a few pounds.

The bottom line is she is a big girl. But big girls need loving, and they'll love you back.

After market exhaust. Stock exhaust is something like 20#'s I think? Whereas, say a TBR is about 8.

Fender eliminator. I've always thought the stock rear was ugly.

Aftermarket battery? Couple pounds lost, but it removes it from a higher part of the bike, changing the overall center of gravity.

Remove the center stand - although it seems to come in so handy that's a debatable option.

If you don't ride 2 up, you can hack off the rear passenger pegs. But note the helmet lock on the left side, so that would have to stay.

Some people remove the snorkel and flapper to lose a few more pounds.

Changing the windscreen can change the overall line of the bike, giving it a different look.

Thanks man. Is ebay the best place to find the rear eliminator?

Probably various places you can look by Googling fender eliminator. Or bust out a Sawz all and cut that bitch down to size.

And what's with the big Honda logo on the tank? Someone getting paid to advertise? Damnnnn!

Welcome to the site. I wouldn't go crazy hacking things off for a while. Ride it first and get used to it as it is for several months before you perform lypo on that baby. You want to loose weight. Drink diet Coke and leave the cookies and ice cream alone. It is not a cbr1000rr. It is a sport tour with attitude. The comforts of the bike, and the ability to go on long well loaded down rides, results in a beefier bike. They will take a huge load for long trips. Well proven.
