I cant stop looking at that swing arm, does that make me a pervert? At least if there was a pussy behind it, I could at least say I was looking at porn. That has to be one of the most fucked up things, I have seen as of recently, very hard core, (not-porn though.)

I take my VFR to a racers' shop in Beaverton, OR. These mechanics know their business! And they use torque wrenches.

Does this include service managers at Honda dealerships who tell you the valves need adjusting every 10k miles and that they have never heard of an R/R crapping out on one of "their" bikes?

Man, that's scarey...........and amazing it didn't make more noise !

Somehow, to my eyes, the sprocket bolts look way too close to the arm, so is there any possibility a spacer was misplaced ???

I agree wholeheartedly. I have 1/4", 3/8", 1/2". I have yet to strip out one of those plastic bolts some claim Honda is using. And I had my faring off six times in the year and a half I had my 12.

What ever you do, don't under any circumstances throw that swing arm away. Its an amazing piece, in time if someone asks you about it, you could tell a little white lie and say it was on someone elses bike, and you were the doode that spotted it and fixed it for him.

Joking aside, we all screw things up from time to time. We all walk a fine piano wire in the game of life and I am glad you did'nt have to test a helmet or worse end up in an ambulance...funny shit BB, ; ) hail harleys... stay cool...

I did a chain and sprockets on a bike not too long ago and used a 3/8 air impact to zap it apart and used the same to re-assemble. I may have even greased the threads, for the record, I would not use a hammer to tighten anything. To take something off, if it was not mine, and I was not using my premium wrenches/ratchets and was in battle conditions (read: farm, race track - mars) I might use a soft bop hammer to wack something off, (not as satisfying as other wacking )

AnywhoOOOOOoooooo...its all good, thanks for sharing again...cheers.
