Hi everyone, I've suffered the joy of a burned out stator :frown: and am looking for any suggestions as to replacement sourcing or rewinding options in Australia. I've found plenty overseas but not had any joy locally so any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Mick

Wiremybike.com - I live in AU and ordered a replacement regulator rectifier from Josh on that site. Took less than a week to arrive, excellent price and recommended!

I buy OEM for the stator, thats just me though. I just installed the second one in the life-cycle of the bike, the one I replaced didnt have alot of miles on it, 16,000 but it was installed 7 years ago. Bike has 78,000 miles on it. I use a mosfit r/r and soldered spade connectors on the end, so I could use the five blade plug coming off the harness.

The stator wires I soldered together. I get 14.00 at 5000 rpm now, where as before I was at 13.00 or s0//good luck.

    Thanks for the reply guys.

The cheapest rewind I found was by Andy Wheeler in Gosford at $275 and an OEM unit in Australia is $360 from the local Honda dealer... on the other hand I can get a new Ricks Motorport Electrics unit for $190 delivered out of the US faster than the OEM will arrive and about as quick as Andy could get my original one back to me.

Unless someone points me in another direction tonight I'll place the order for the Ricks unit tomorrow...
    Cheers,
    Mick
