I found an 86 750 solo cowl for sale. My questions is: Will the 750 cowl fit the 87 700? It's for sale for $35 and it's missing the tab in the back (wrong color too) but I know these things are practically impossible to find!

That's why I'm not revealing my source... don't want anyone trying to snake it!

If it fits an 86 it should fit an 87.

What are these worth? Just curious? I have one from an 1987 700 (RWB) with all of the tabs that I've been moving around with me since 1989 when my bike was totaled. Periodically I think about selling it but that would mean that I have given up the dream of owning another .

The only two I've seen went for about $110 and $150. They are really hard to find and especially in good shape. If you decide you do want to sell it... I'd be interested.

On a side note, do you have an affinity for wood turtles?

I'm probably going to hold on to it for now so I can keep the dream alive.

And yes I have a few central american wood turtles. I found an escaped pet at a nature preserve and adopted another from a reptile rescue.

Neat-o. I've done some work with spiny softshell turtles up here. Cool little guys!

Unfortunately I didn't end up with the cowl. Still on the hunt but the good news it that the bike only needs a temp gauge and a fork seal and she'll be back up and running!
