    Hi everyone,

    I'm the proud owner of a 1985 VF700F.

The beastie runs like a top, but I think I may need a new rear shock.

    So, I have questions.

Is the stock shock rebuildable? If so, is this something easily accomplished at home? I do have mechanical skills, but not a lot of exotic tools.

    Or

If I need to buy a replacement, what do you recommend? I can't spend a fortune, but I'd like something for everyday moderate commuting and pleasure riding. It's not a track bike, nor does my skill-set warrant banzai runs through the twisties.

    Help and input are appreciated.

    Thanks,

    dv

Thanks to JamieDaugherty, I have a new remote reservoir shock to install on my bike.

I know I need to "hang" the reservoir somewhere.

Any suggestions on where and what to use to mount it?

    THanks,

    dv

+1, that is the standard way to do it. I would mount it to the frame rail under the tank, just inside your left knee as sitting on the bike.

    Enjoy!

Yeah, I figured a "big ol'" hose clamp would be the quick and easy, but was having trouble visualizing WHERE to put it.

    Thanks,
