After several years of trying to put this bike back together and get her up and running i finally took the bike to the pros for assistance. Well they delivered me the bad news that my engine was dead. 2 pistons had NO Compression, 1 was 60, and one was in spec. So i would definitely need a rebuild but the cost would be more than the bike is worth. so after several years im calling it quits. so for those interested, im parting her out. its a vfr700 has F2 front end and rear, new chain, new regulator, cleaned carb, cbr600rr tail section, all plastics, jaime d converted f3 shock, yosh 4 into 1 pipe, etc. so if anyone needs anything please let me know. also tons of stock vfrr700 parts that i took off or changed.

Sorry for your loss. That's a lot of time invested, but it sounds like it's time to cut your losses.
Any chance of finding a motor out of a wrecked bike for cheap? You've probably looked into that. Was just a thought.

Sounds like you have done a lot of work I concur with the above ie put a new engine in? Just had a quick look and ebay has 5 of these engines at the moment.

Sorry to hear that. I spent months cobbling my 87 f2 together and i would be devastated if all that work was for nothing.

Sounds like a good chance to upgrade to round gauges.

Ive got a 49 state RC24 roller with your name on it if you change your mind. no plastics or carbs...East coast title...33k on the odometer. Straight frame. It will be some work, but when you are done swapping all your goodies over you'll have quite a machine....round gauges included.

Its in norcal and Id like $250.

I would say go for the new engine. looking on ebay they are 200 - 400 running. Machining on yours alone would probably cost that much.

Having been in this boat b4...

Pricing parts alone to do a rebuild was somewhere around $900. That's without any machining or other labor. Hard to justify the money or time when 20k motors are $400ish bucks and normally last much much longer.

    And in the end
The number of VFR's you take
Are equal to the number of VFR's
    You make

Okay after a few turn of events, im going to go ahead and part vfr out. i might have someone interested in cbr f2 swap setup and possibelly yosh pipe. but everything else must go. i got plastics and parts. i dont have the vfr tail on anymore i got the 03-04 cbr600rr tail on it. so if anyone is interested in that. im letting that go as well..EVERYTHING MUST GO OR ITS GETTING TRASHED!!!
