Yesterday I finally got to go and pick up my VFR from cadillac mi. Overall the bike is in great shape with normal wear for a 99. The valves were adjusted last spring and the rectifier has been replaced with the corrected oem piece. It has around 33000 miles but seems to run seamless with plenty of power on tap. So as im heading out on the 2.5 + hour ride home from cadillac to alpena, it starts to snow and get really cold. Im a trooper though and continued on until my hands and feet became too cold and painful to continue. I ended up leaving her at my moms about an hour away from home. I loved the way the bike rode and was overall comfortable but i think i may want to look into a set of bars that are a little bit taller than stock.(any suggestion). Anyways that was my first experience on a VFR and except for the crappy weather it weas great.

Sorry to hear about your adventure with the fluffy white stuff but at least you were able to get the bike out for a bit of a ride. I was able to get heli-bars for my 97 VFR and they made a huge difference in comfort. The heli-bars raise the bars up and back a bit, though I can't remember the actual measurements. A few people on the site have mentioned a product called convertibars though I have no experience with them. The heli-bars do not require any changes to the cables other than changing the routing of a few cables slightly different. Not sure about the convertibars.

Blame it on global warming and that today is "Mother's Day".

WTF is a "Hethen" ? Sounds like my Uncle Ernie when he sneezes.

It was just a little name we made up for our circle friends from Hubbard lake. I know it's spelled different but we are a little different around here so we made it our own.

I agree with Bad and say that we must blame it all on global climate change but perhaps if you are still suffering from the indecent affects of the white fluffy stuff falling forth from the sky you might want to consider a different bike for the winter. Check out the pictures of this Triumph that I uploaded. Not a VFR but certainly cool looking IMO.

I hope membership in your MC doesn't include proof of frostbite. ;)

    Short one on mispelt things:

On my way to class one day in the day driving my old Triumph TR-4. Houston MC Officer pulls me over for a couple of miles over the limit. He's riding a Triumph Saint, a police bike. Very rare in the US.. We shoot the breeze about bikes ect., and he tells me about traffic citations being legal documents and that every part has to be right. He shows me on the ticket where if even the name of the street is misspelt, I walk. Darn guy couldn't spell a lick..

I love the Convertibars. They're not cheap if you want the full range of adjustmnent but I basically have 2 bikesa in one. The pics are of my 6th Gen (06) with Convertibars, new clutch, brake and throttle lines. They really do allow the VFR to live up to both parts of the Sport Tourer claim.
