I crashed my bike and basically all of the fairings are a little damaged in one spot or another. I am just thinking it would be easiest to replace all the fairings and I found this website and it almost seems too good to be true but I just wanted some people's opinions.. here is the site: 1998-2001 Honda VFR800 Factory RED Motorcycle Bodywork Kit: H-VFR800-9801-F-RED-11-1P | Five Star Fairings

One of my fairings is cracked, but the other onces are just mostly scratched and I figured it would be cost just about the same amount to get them repaired and shinny again as it would to buy the new ABS fairings listed above.

I do have all the broken plastic pieces from the fairings, so I would probably be better off fixing them and getting them repainted and saving the money? I guess my only other question for now is where is a good place to buy all of the fairing bolts? As I have lost and mismatched them

Find a plastic repair place, they can do amazing work now. Unfortuantely very few fairing parts are available from Honda for the 5th gen & they are silly expensive :( Good luck with the refurb. I repainted my ZZR250 with rattle cans, as I was not prepared to pay appox £600/$1000 for a proper paint job on the replacement panels I got in primer finish. Remember wet & dry paper is your friend. With a single colour it is quite easy to get a resonable finish, you can then add graphics & clear lacquer over the top as per OEM.

I'd get the existing fairings repaired. Colour matching can be an issue though, especially if your existing paint has aged a little. My fairings were repaired and resprayed professionally according to the Honda paint code and now they don't 100% match the tank and tailpiece in certain lighting conditions.

Try a place like Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Accessories by BikeBandit.com or Honda Motorcycle,Honda ATV Parts Up To 40% Off, Accessories

I have ordered parts from both places now and their prices are about half that of the factory Honda parts but they are OEM parts. All you have to do is bolt them on and ride since they come painted and with decals already installed just like the factory panels. I think most of the parts that both places sell are red but they may have other colors as well.

The only down side to having the fairings repainted is that you will have to replace the decals on the lower cowls (if you want to that is) and the decals (like the VFR logo on the lower cowls) can be a bit costly.
