I am sharing this at the risk of getting flamed for the ahem "gear" I am wearing. I am an ATGATT guy but this was a spur of the moment thing. The bike was fully warmed up about an hour before this run and the oil was still hot. So not exactly a cold start and run.

    VFR no muffler - YouTube

I just finished mounting new tires and just was curious how it sounded without the muffler. I had no intention of riding it like that. I started it up and at idle it sounded like a mean muscle car. My neighbor came out with his nephew thinking there was muscle car on the street:). Anyways I started wondering how it would sound under load and before much long just rode it. After one go my buddy started taping me and the 3 year old kid kept saying "Go Faster" and I couldn't resist. I noticed that there were a lot of videos on youtube of VFR with no muffler but just idling and hardly any that had one accelerating or under load. So I thought I would share. my brother commented it sounded very motogp machine like.

Now I am kind of wondering If there is a aftermarket exhaust that gives you this tone but without being very loud.

We did something similar once with a late 90's Yukon. Removed the pipes to change the donuts, fired it up and revved it some in the driveway just to hear a treefitty with no pipes. Neighbors came over to see what race car I bought. Threw a cat code that took two weeks to go away.
