What is the reason for the difference in engine # form 98 to 99? Are they not the exact same engine? If not, what part is making that extra torque on the 98? Am I correct that some later model year 99's had catalytic converters? ( I think I read that somewhere) Could that be it?

    98
    Power: 110.00 HP (80.3 kW)) @ 10500 RPM
    Torque: 79.00 Nm (8.1 kgf-m or 58.3 ft.lbs) @ 8500 RPM

    99
    Power: 98.00 HP (71.5 kW)) @ 10500 RPM
    Torque: 75.00 Nm (7.6 kgf-m or 55.3 ft.lbs) @ 8500 RPM

The '99 and '98 are the same engine, the difference in Torque might be between the dynos or individual motors tested, the cat started from '00 with the MK2.
