    Bought this bike used.

The tool kit that came with it has only a spanner with extension.

It serves as a gas tank prop.

Does it also serve as a spanner for some other part of the bike? Where?

Is there supposed to be other tools, or is the spanner all that came with it?

    Thx.

that spanner wrench is used to tighten your chain. and yes there should be more in there like a 17mm wrench pliers, srewdriver and such

I'm pretty sure Honda stopped including the full tool kit several years ago. I know at least 4 people who bought their VFR's new from the dealership in 2007 or later and none of them received tool kits.

The 06 had the more complete tool set. Personally, the only tool I have ever used in that kit is the spanner and for adjusting the chain only. I have had the gas tank fall off the spanner a couple times onto my hand so now use something better for that. A full gas tank crashing down on your hands hurts like a bitch.

In '07 Honda improved the performance of US sixth gen models by reducing the "tool kit" to include only the spanner (weight savings of approximately .047221 pounds) and painting them kick-ass red (equivalent to adding 17.328 horsepower). That's why the red '07's are the fasted VFRs out there.

Hey thanks! I didn't know the chain was adjustable, so cool!

    jk

I agree with Randy that it's a pretty rare occasion when one actually uses those tools, but they can be a lifesaver. Even if I never used them, I'm still jealous because the Brits get the whole kit. I think I'll pout all day now.

Also, I must admit that as I become completely familiar with the VFR while seeing various photos here, it occurs to me that the RWB is pretty badass.
