I don't see the chain wear indicator mentioned in the manual. I am just curious whether my 07 has such a thing. The chain has run out of adjustment and I have a new one and associated sprockets standing by.

By the fact that I have run out of adjustment I know I need to replace the chain. Just want to know whether the indicator exists.

If it has a rear tire hugger on it then the chain guard gets changed out and doesnt have the indicator. Other wise it should be a pretty obvious sticker on the side if the chain guard even with the front of the back sproket.

Right here: Or it is supposed to be. I think the sticker is useless. A good visual inspection should tell you what you need to know.

On the guard is just a shiny square in the plastic. No indicator. Odd my chain doesn't pull far from the rear sprocket yet I'm out of adjustment. ??

The indicator sticker probably fell off. If your chain is max out then time for you to replace the chain and sprockets. How many miles is on the chain and sprockets?

Mine fell off too when I cleaned up all the grease with a degreaser a few years back. The degreaser dissolved the glue on the back of the sticker so I bought a new sticker and put it on. New sticker is slightly different that the original so I don't use it anyways.

As others have stated, its right on the chain guard in what would be the forward most position of the teeth on the rear sprocket. Either way, you should adjust via slack, not the guide on the guard. If you can't remove the slack out of the chain to get the proper amount of slack, it is time to replace the chain.
