So this morning my 3yr old son inspired me to start this post. As I was sitting drinking my coffee he started laughing historically I look over and see him with my helmet on. He had climbed up on the counter and got my helmet put it on and sat back down too watch cartoons. So I opened my gear closet and oh boy he changed close and all and was ready to ride. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg what's your next gen look like .this post is for the kids.

    Next gen VFR Owner

My son Liam is definitely on his way to becoming the next generation of Viffer owner. Had a few neat shots of him when he was 2 and 3 and sitting on the bike and a tri-cycle while wearing a helmet, gloves and boots but I can not seem to locate them on the computer. He is now almost 6 and has his own riding gear.

Scubalong I have two teenagers 13 and sixteen the only throttle they're interested in is the RT button on the damn Xbox. Well that's not happening with my three year old. As soon as he's tall enough he's getting a little 50cc with training wheels.

Actually speaking the helmet was almost the least expensive part of the outfit. Gloves were $25, helmet was $95 (kids HJC CL-10 size Youth S so a good helmet) and a Tourmaster Youth small jacket (arms are a bit long but his arms will grow) for $255. The jacket has adjustable straps for arm length and adjustable waist band so it should fit him for a couple years and when he outgrows his helmet and jacket his sister can use the gear, unless the helmet is more than five years old at that point at which time I will replace the helmet anyhow.

My son just loves his time with me on the bike and he asks to go riding any chance he gets. The only down side is now his sister is old enough to voice her displeasure at not being able to go as well. When she is old enough to ride my wife and I were thinking about getting a bike for my wife and my daughter can ride with her. My wife was going to sign up for the motorcycle safety course this year and get her full license so that by the time we're ready to go her license restrictions will be removed. We may wind up with graduated licensing requirements here which would preclude her from carrying a passenger for a year or more. Regulations has yet to be passed but from what the guys at the MSC school mentioned it was being considered for implementation in the next year. Probably be a year or two before my daughter is old enough and tall enough to ride (she must be able to touch the foot pegs while sitting on the passenger portion of the seat according to the rules that came in to place this year) so even if they enact the graduated licensing program for my wife's license it will be a while before my daughter can ride any how.

A few years ago, somewhere around 07, I suggested my son (18 at the time) try on my helmet. He said "Why". I said if it fits, he could have it and I would pay for his MC course. His reply was "I'm not riding that thing!" .....Wuss

Im wondering if it may be the girls that take us into the future. All my boys enjoy the things one would expect. But the girls seem even more aggro then you'd think.

Kids these days don't have a clue. It's all about the lil 600's or the 1000's. they'll learn someday. I took a ride with a buddy he rode his liter bike and I rode my vfr. I stayed with him in the corners and we had a good ride but he filled up three times on that trip to my one.... Hmmm performance and good mileage ill stick with my vfr anyday. Even take it to the track and have a blast every once in a while.

yea, I had mine on a Cagllari Daytona pocket bike (Red) when he was 3. Welded training wheels on it and I'd run behind him holding a rope so he did not get to crazy. He's 6 now and the raining wheels are off. Just like this one. Looks kinda like a Viffer.
