Will someone direct me to any past info related to rear tail or subframe modifications. Bike is great but it needs a fanny tuck to make the body look sleeker, lighter. Lots of mags show other brands being refitted with later or better looking componets. I have a little trouble navigating the site. (i'm over 30!)
    Thank you
    King

It's really not that hard to make something yourself, a little imagination and a hand full of skills can go a long way

I apologize in advance for the thread jack

Thanks Tink, as we have discussed previously your build was a huge inspiration.

Cheers ACwelch, it was (is) a fun build, funny enough sorting out the paint was the hardest part. Like the exhaust and tail mod I had an image I wanted to achieve in my head however had a hard task finally getting it in paint and on the bike the way I wanted.

In the paint stage this is basically what I started with

    Then a custom Yellow pearl

Then pin striping and masking for the graphics

First test fit after graphics are painted

And finally as it stands now (addition since pic, wheels are painted in the same carbon graphite and has a ZG screen)

There is a small custom addition to the front fairing in the first couple of pics, I'm interested to know if you spot it and figure out what it is

    Apolagize to the op

    Cheers Daniel

Looks like your awesome at paint work. I wish you lived near me. My plan is to take my plastics to the local body shop and see if they can fix / paint them for me. What's your opinion? Can this stuff be fixed "like new" ?

I'm budgeting less then a grand to repair and paint these... I'm not sure if it will be more or less but unless I come up with some kind of completely awesome custom paint job that I want, I can't see spending 2-3x as much as new plastics I can get on the web.

Yes can be fixed quite easily, a little filler, primer and paint they will look better than new.

WHAAAAAT! Thats completely awesome LOL -- very unique style blinker.. sweet.

edit: you know, if someone knew what they were doing i suppose you could have any design in that spot to light up when you hit the turn signal... wonderful possibilities!

Hey, now! That was a very slick job there. :clap2:

A piece of plexi painted over with stock color? I've really been thinking of doing a black bottom coat like that to slim the line of the rear end. It does look quite nice on yours.

OK, Now that is truly amazing there Toad. The paint job looks amazing and the integrated turn signal idea is truly unique. You should be commended for such an amazing job. Way to go. What kind of exhaust cans did you use and do you have any problems with clearance with rear wheel. I have thought about doing an undertail exhaust on my 5th gen and you did a really nice job, so I was hoping I could pick your brain a bit on what you used.

Thanks, and yes you can. In fact I have used the same type of turn signals in the rear aswell

Thanks guys I appreciate the kind words

Cheers Zoom, to be honest I have no idea what cans they are I picked them up from a wreck and there is nothing marked or stamped on them. They do resemble stain tunes but again I’m not sure.

You’re welcome to pick my brain, although not sure how much help I’ll be 

I’ve been asked to put up a thread a few times just figured there really wouldn’t be that much interest in it. So I guess I really need to get off my ass and put up a build thread (or should I say built thread) I will endeavor to get something up and started over the weekend which may help answer a few questions for you.

    Cheers Daniel

What are the dimensions of the cans used for the under seat exhaust mod?
