It turns out my hair brained scheme of a combo metal/fiberglass gas tank wasn't such a hot idea!!!! The liner failed and it got a little leaky on me, live and learn, only metal from here on out. So I took the vf500 bottom and welded on the top of a 916 tank, it will now be gravity fed. There is a lot more work to do before it will look right. But not a bad fit.

Well it's been a while, I recently moved and was busy remodeling my new house, but got back to work on the 916/vf500 hybrid tank and finished it a bit ago, I did reclear coat all the body work. I mainly just ride the back roads with it but I am glad I kept up with it.

I also built this little track bike with some of the leftover parts from the above bike.
It's a 1979 yz 250 frame with a 1994 cr250r motor, vf500 wheels, cbr600 forks and front rotors, cb400 tank, tz tail, and bultaco fairing. Wanted it to have a bimota sb1 vibe. Was trying to sell it, but in the end i decided to keep it.

Thanks fellas! I have finally been able find enjoyment in keeping a bike and slowly improving them, it sure is a lot less expensive than selling and starting a new one!
