I am back!

I am going to resurrect this thread....in it I mentioned a 1998 VFR that I found, and was going to buy, but at the last minute the guy backed out of the deal. There are pictures of the bike in this thread that I posted. The guy sent me a text and says the bike is once again for sale. It's a very nice 98, that he was asking way too much for, but I was still all set to buy it when he backed out.
So if anybody is looking for a very nice and clean 98, let me know and I will hook you up with this guy. He is from Cleveland Ohio.

 

Just out of curiosity, did you ever start a post here on your 07 woes? Link if so? I just bought one just like yours a couple months ago and love it so far. I'd love to read more about what happened with yours and how you got around to selling it, but I don't want to hijack your thread here.

 

Yes, I did put a thread up about that whole thing....I'll have to go in search of.....but if you do a search for "2007 engine knock" you might come across it....I'm not sure what the title of it was for sure....
Suffice to say it apparently was not a noise any other VFR on this forum had. The bike had some legitimate problem causing this noise, it was intermittent, but I am positive it was something that left alone was going to eventually manifest into something serious. Anytime your bike has a knocking/clacking noise and when it does it you can feel the knock in the frame rails against your legs, it's bad!!!
I traded it in, and prayed to GOD it wouldn't decide to knock on the day they test rode it....and it didn't. I felt bad about doing that, but I refused to deal with it any longer.

I decided to read through some of that old post of mine....apparently that noise it made was already "manifesting" because my initial post states that from 10 feet away you might not have even been able to hear the noise. Well, I can tell you that by the time I got rid of the bike with about 6000 miles on it, the noise had gotten many times louder.
