New Guy From Shannonville Ontario

Hey All,
Just picked up a fixer upper and hope to get her back on the road. Single Dad with not a lot of cash. Picked up a slightly damaged 86 VF500 for 500 Bucks. Looking forward to learning and contributing on the VF forum .

 

Welcome to the World and good luck with your project. If you have questions about the bike, I venture to say that you have come to the right place. There are a number of people on this site with a huge wealth of knowledge.

Don't forget to post up some pics of the new bike when you get a chance.

How is the weather over in Shannonville?? Are you one of the few in Ontario that can start riding or are you still stuck with a pile of snow in your yard?? Out here in BC we seem to be blessed with a decided lack of the white fluffy stuff at least in Okanagan Valley anyhow unlike a friend of mine who lives in Calgary. Apparently they received more snow this morning in Calgary and the forecast for the rest of the week is rather bleak. The weather this year has certainly been strange. From one Canuck to another, I hope you are out and about on the bike either now, or in the very near future.

The weather finally broke here...last week was a freezing rain storm, Today it is 15C. Hope to be on the road by the end of May. I posted a question in the garage...one hurdle at a time

I have a pipe dream to take a trip next year that just may bring me through Shannonville. If you are still around, I may look you up. That's just down the road from Price George BC isn't it?

 

Welcome, I'm just around the corner, maybe Randy can watch our kids and prepare a nice feast if he makes it through and you, Slow, Jethro and I can go for a ride. Or maybe we should draw straws?

You are in a great spot, there are som esuper roads just north of your location that I have much enjoyed over the years. Heading south into "the county" can be fun too if you like wine, cheese, and Toronto empty nesters driving around in their BMWs. I used to have a place in Wellington so I know all too well unfortunately. Then you also have access to Shannonville, nuff said...

Hopefully the VF500 gives you many hours of trouble free riding enjoyment!

Love the area as I am born and bread here. I know the roads to the North well and have been on many o wine tours in the County. I know Wellington well and grew up camping at Salmon Point on the Lake. Definitely give me a shout if your in the area (county or track).

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I just moved out east from Trenton a few years back. Spent many summer days when I was younger at the Shannonville racetrack for the "run what you brung" nights. Good times!
