Hi to all on VFR World site. Didn't think I'd be back in the saddle after being so long out of it, 14 years. Father in law handed me his VFR 800 fi 1998 and to say I was chuffed is an understatement. Wife's not got the same amount of joy mind you. Heading to Kilarney bike fest for my first longish ride out at end of month so can't wait. Hoping to get some useful tips of u vfr vets out there. First is the matter of replacing fork seals which have been ordered. Wish me luck.
Another Irish dude has shown up, quick hide the beer. Welcome to V4 madness and enjoy the new toy. Rollin
Welcome Spud! But like Reggie says I was in Kilarney back in summer of 2011. Wrapped my lips around the Blarney stone there.
Definitely pick up a fork seal driver or make your own, you'll be glad you did. Apart from the driver, it's a pretty simple process, just be aware that there are snap rings holding things in place that you'll need to remove before things come apart. If you can find it over there on the Emerald Ilse, look for the 'Racetech Suspension Bible', they have how-tos on pretty much anything motorcycle suspension related. Slainte!
