Hi All...I have a 1991 VFR and the throttle seems to stick a bit. So:
    1. Should I oil the throttle cables with like 30W oil or something? I've heard some bikes you shouldn't oil the cables.
    2. Should I take the throttle grip off and grease the handlebar underneath it?
    3. I sprayed some silicon lube under the grip and the seems to have dissolved some of the adhesive holding the grip on. What should I use to stick it back on?

    TIA

    1. It depends on why they're sticking, but generally, you should lubricate and adjust your cables periodically. I would buy a special cable lubrication tool for this very purpose and have it as part of your toolkit. (And if you haven't done it before, or even if you have, you'll get more lube on you than in the cable, but eventually you'll get it) and don't use 30W oil. In fact, don't even use WD-40 (except maybe for the initial cleaning). I WOULD lubricate with PJ cable lube or something specialized for the purpose. Standard oils will only attract dirt in time and you will be right back at Square One.
    2. I would ensure it is smooth and clean first, and you can do this with some light sandpaper.
    3. Wow, my grips are on so tight, they turn inside out when I remove them. I'm not sure.
